5 min ATP Short Duration Power Workout
- 5 sec max effort (sprint) @ RPE 10
- 55 sec recovery @ RPE 1
- Repeat for a total of 5 rounds
Goal: The anaerobic alactate or phosphagen system is characterized by short-duration, intense activity by which the muscles utilize adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to produce power. The long recovery intervals at a very low intensity are necessary to replace the muscles’ creatine phosphate supply and ensure you continue to train the phosphagen system. If you are a sprinter trying to improve your start out of the blocks or an athlete working to improve your power, this VersaClimber workout will provide a low-impact, full-body challenge to take you to the next level.
Anaerobic: relating to, involving, or requiring an absence of free oxygen.
